Wow! Time flies and we are having fun. We have now had our first two city-wide worship events and it has been a fantastic time! Our first event was held in August at the Youth for Christ Centre here in London and I was blown away by the response of the people. It was so great to see so many come out to worship together. Our second event was amazing as we gathered together in Victoria Park on Friday, September 9th, to worship as one. You can see some of the photos from both events in our gallery.

I was so thrilled that God answers prayer on this past event. With a 70% chance of rain forecasted, I asked everyone to pray that the weather for the event would change and that we would in no way be hindered from worshiping together. I am happy to report that while the dark clouds rolled over us and threatened to pour out, we worshiped together for 3 hours and then packed everything up and it was not until we left the park with all our gear in tow, that it began to rain! Praise be to God.

One thing that I believe that the Lord is pressing on for the city of London, is unity. While I can understand that the church in whole will most likely not ever be in complete agreement on all issues regarding our faith and how we walk that out, I believe that we need to come together in agreement with one another that Jesus Christ is Lord and He deserves all of our praise and worship. And even tho we may not even agree on style of music, I believe that if we will come together with a heart to be in unity and to serve the One who is worthy, God will bless us for our obedience.

In John 17, Jesus, in His prayer says, “(22)The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; (23) I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me”. We need to unite, if for nothing else because it a testimony to the glory and the love of Christ for the world. There is power that comes in unity and I believe if we will be willing to not focus on our differences, but rather focus on the common things we have in Christ, our part in advancing the Kingdom of God will be much more effective.

May I challenge you to begin to dwell on unity and what God intended this to look like for the Body of Christ and for the city of London, Ontario. May we walk in truth with Him and with each other and destroy the tactics and plans of the enemy for this city because of the power we possess when the Christ in each of us corporately unites for the advancing of the Kingdom... May it be on earth as it is in Heaven!
