I am soooo excited! I love it when we get to be a part of God's plans.

The vision for The Response Initiative came back in April of this year while I was preparing for a conference in the UK. It seems to be a season for me personally, where I have received a great deal of revelation on the subject of worship. It was about 2 years ago when I began to take notice, while in worship services, that the atmosphere changed in a different way when we began to lift up the songs that I would consider WORSHIP. I believe we often make the mistake of calling a lot of our song services worship, when in fact only a portion of what we are doing is actually worship while the other part is song ministry that ministers to the heart of man.

Now, scripture tells us to minister to one another in song, so there is nothing wrong with this, but we must not confuse this with worship. The basic meaning of the word for 'worship' (PROSKUNEO) is to express, by words or by bowing down, profound and submissive respect or adoration. I have been thinking lately about what profound and submissive respect and adoration look like. The picture and question that keeps coming to my mind is this. If the "person" of Jesus Christ were to walk in the room with a physical presence, what would our worship look like?

I am excited about The Response Initiative as we endeavour to come together as the body of Christ to worship Him with all that we are. This is going to be a time where we watch the atmosphere of our city change as we ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name!
